Man, I was reading the post-MTV World Stage Malaysia 2014 press release and I sure have missed out on much this year. Oh well, I’ve always encouraged people to study hard and prioritize studies over concerts so… yeah.

While I can’t tell you exactly how much fun this year’s edition was, after the MTV World Stage Malaysia 2013 experience, I have no doubt that it was a blast this year as well.

Lifting and/or paraphrasing/summarising bits from the official MTV Asia release:

Boys Republic made their MTV World Stage debut with a performance of “넌 내게 특별해 (You Are Special)”. The audience was treated to the maiden performance of Boys Republic’s remix of “Video Game”. Their set culminated with fan favourite, “Party Rock”.

Yuna took to the stage singing “Falling” against a backgrop of waterfall pyrotechnics. She sang “Mountains”, “Lelaki” and “Dan Sebanarya”, “Lights And Camera” and “Terukir Di Bintang” and others. She also mesmerized fans as she performed “Rescue” with her ukulele. The Malaysian superstar then wrapped up her set on MTV World Stage Malaysia with an absolutely magical performance of “Come Back”.

B.o.B kicked off his set with a spectacular display of lights as his backdrop and an energetic performance comprising of a 16-track medley including “Don’t Let Me Fall”, “Ready ft. Future”, “Headband ft. 2 Chainz”, “John Doe ft. Priscilla” and “So Good”. As the start of “Magic”, B.o.B exchanged high fives with the fans and the audience were waving their mobile phones during the performance of “Both of Us (ft. Taylor Swift)”.

It was a poignant moment when B.o.B dedicated global hit song ““Airplanes (ft. Hayley Williams of Paramore)”, to all those who had lost loved ones in recent tragedies. B.o.B teased the fans and even went crowd surfing, before delivering his finale “Still In This”.

It sure sounds like one huge party that I’ve missed. Next year man, next year…
