If you are unable to make it to the open audition in Singapore, there are additional auditions scheduled in Kuala Lumpur [28 September 2014 from 9.00 am – 7.00 pm at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus (Jalan Taylor’s, Subang Jaya, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia)] and Manila [28 September 2014, 10.00 am – 6.00 pm at the SMX Convention Center, Seashell Lane, Pasay City]. You can also log on to www.axn-asia.com/AsiasGotTalent to audition online.
[25 September 2014 | Note] It seems like the registration for the audition has crashed so if you don’t get to register or something, I’d say to just show up and see if there is a queue you can join at the venue.
“Asia’s Got Talent” is co-owned by FremantleMedia and Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and will premiere on AXN in early 2015 across 20 territories in Asia, including South Korea, Hong Kong and the Republic of China.
Man, I was reading the post-MTV World Stage Malaysia 2014 press release and I sure have missed out on much this year. Oh well, I’ve always encouraged people to study hard and prioritize studies over concerts so… yeah.
Lifting and/or paraphrasing/summarising bits from the official MTV Asia release:
Thaitanium opened the night with an 11-track medley which included the inaugural performance of their new single with Snoop Dogg, “Wake Up (Bangkok City)”. They also performed songs like “Do What I Say”, “Bong Tong”, “Put Your Hands Up” and “Sukebe”.
Boys Republic made their MTV World Stage debut with a performance of “넌 내게 특별해 (You Are Special)”. The audience was treated to the maiden performance of Boys Republic’s remix of “Video Game”. Their set culminated with fan favourite, “Party Rock”.
Yuna took to the stage singing “Falling” against a backgrop of waterfall pyrotechnics. She sang “Mountains”, “Lelaki” and “Dan Sebanarya”, “Lights And Camera” and “Terukir Di Bintang” and others. She also mesmerized fans as she performed “Rescue” with her ukulele. The Malaysian superstar then wrapped up her set on MTV World Stage Malaysia with an absolutely magical performance of “Come Back”.
B.o.B kicked off his set with a spectacular display of lights as his backdrop and an energetic performance comprising of a 16-track medley including “Don’t Let Me Fall”, “Ready ft. Future”, “Headband ft. 2 Chainz”, “John Doe ft. Priscilla” and “So Good”. As the start of “Magic”, B.o.B exchanged high fives with the fans and the audience were waving their mobile phones during the performance of “Both of Us (ft. Taylor Swift)”.
It was a poignant moment when B.o.B dedicated global hit song ““Airplanes (ft. Hayley Williams of Paramore)”, to all those who had lost loved ones in recent tragedies. B.o.B teased the fans and even went crowd surfing, before delivering his finale “Still In This”.
It sure sounds like one huge party that I’ve missed. Next year man, next year…

So after Jennifer Hudson pulled out of the 2014 MTV World Stage Malaysia, it was announced earlier today that Thaitanium now joins the line up!
Thaitanium are SICK! I remember them from the MTV Asia Awards back in 2006 when they performed with Simon Webbe of Blue. I don’t remember much about that performance but the existence of Thaitanium definitely registered in my mind from that point onward.
