MCM at the Men’s Fashion Week 2012 Singapore Closing Night

Men’s Fashion Week 2012 Singapore came to a close last night at the Marina Bay Sands
Convention Hall with a spectacular from Germany brand MCM.

The show started with a performance by Bie Kpn from Thailand.

After that they started the show proper with the new collection from MCM.

What I thought was pretty cool was how they actually customised 4 segways with the signature MCM fabric.

There was another performance by a B-boy group (didn’t catch the name) as well.

I also thought it was pretty cool how they closed the show with a bang and lots of confetti.

There after, it was a gala dinner and a post show party performance by Singaporean singer
Eli T.

Diet Butcher Slim Skin at Men’s Fashion Week 2012 Singapore

Diet Butcher Slim Skin opened Japan Night at Men’s Fashion Week 2012 Singapore. It featured live music from acclaimed pianist H Zett M and DJ Mass while the models rocked the runway.

The Diet Butcher Slim Skin show was the only show so far that I’ve watched that had live music while the models walked the runway. I like this format a lot. It’s more interesting as well.

The music during the show was pretty avant-garde. It was also very interesting to hear a DJ put beats onto an improvised piece. While I wouldn’t appreciate such music usually, I thought that it worked really well during the fashion show.

Here’s a little snippet of the show and the music that I am talking about:

The show started fashionably late with the autumn/winter collection from Beyond Closet
(Korea).

It was then followed by the show from Vandal (Korea) by designer Heenim Yang. He also is a musician and the music used during show featuring his Vandalist Collection is actually
composed by him.

The Vandalist Collection had a very dark and military inspired look to it. It matches the
strong beats and groove in the music. Very cool.

Resurrection (Korea) was next.

After the show was Sungha Jung’s performance and you can read about Sungha Jung’s
performance on the second night here
.

Next was the show by D. Gnak from Korea.

Korean trio 8Eight was supposed to perform tonight but one of the members apparently fell sick and their performance was cancelled. In their place, the organizers shuffled Sungha Jung and Megan Lee’s from an earlier slot. I am not complaining for sure.

Finally, the day ended with the collection from General Idea (Korea).

And the performance that everyone is eagerly waiting for, SE7EN! You can read more about the Se7en performance here.
