Starfield Library in Coex Mall, Seoul is definitely worth a visit when you are in Seoul. Apart from the fact that this is a public library in the middle of a shopping mall, be amazed by the fact that there are no physical boundaries to the library and no security to make sure people don’t steal books or anything like that.

Everyone was either just sitting there resting from shopping, doing their own thing or browsing/reading the books. It was a pretty novel concept and yet to be seen how long this will last but it sure was cool as hell. I would hang out there for the day if there were books I could read. LOL. Sure I can read Korean but too many Korean characters would give me a headache the way Chinese characters would as well.

It’s also quite obvious that not all the books are for reading because the shelves are just way too high up and I didn’t see no ladders or anything for anyone to climb up and reach those books.

You can get to Starfield Library by taking Line 2 (Green) to Samseong Station. Use Exit 6 and follow the signs (they are in English) to Starfield Coex Mall. The library is in the main atrium.
