So I was tweeting about how I was feeling scared. A couple of friends noticed how Manfred had also tweeted that he was feeling scared today.
Initially, I was wondering what happened and after I found out what made Manfred scared, I got scared myself. 🙁
Ignorance is bliss as they say. It’s true.
Anyway, since a couple of you asked why, I thought that I should make a blog post about it so I don’t have to keep repeating the story. It’s like an official statement type thing you know. LOL.
So here’s what happened:
Manfred started off by asking me if I noticed anything odd when I was bunking in with him when I was in London. I immediately suspected that his room was haunted though I didn’t notice anything when I was there. Even when I spent one night in the room alone.
Manfred was telling me about how his Aunt who came over to his house for a visit and got possessed by a ghost. It’s really like a scene out of Ghost Whisperer.
Some background first, Manfred’s aunt is the typical heartlander type of older Singaporeans where English is not a first language. So it was weird when she suddenly started speaking with a British accent.
The ghost starting telling her life story about how she was a previous tenant in the room and that she didn’t like that Manfred was sleeping on her bed. I’m not sure if she died in the room if you’re wondering at this point. To be honest, I don’t think so and I don’t really want to know.
The ghost actually said that she made the room colder than it should be and she gave Manfred bruises on his back!!! When we were in the room, I did think the heater was kinda useless and that it wasn’t really effective. Then again, London was having freak weather at that point so I didn’t think too much about it.
It was also creepy that the ghost was able to mention stuff that only Manfred (and subsequently me) knew.
On top of that, as my sister is dog sitting, I now have a female Corgi in my house since Tuesday. The Corgi is super docile and doesn’t make a single sound. However, when I was home alone with the dog on Tuesday night, she started growling and barking.
At that point, I thought she was just bored and wanted attention so I didn’t bother much about the incident. Thinking back now, that has been the only time I’ve heard the dog making any sound vocally. So I’m probably going into an imagination overdrive here but was it because the dog saw something that I didn’t??
Regardless, it’s CREEPY!!!!
However, there’s a lighter side to this horror story, when asked what she wanted, the ghost wanted spaghetti because she was really hungry. Manfred’s mother then asked if they should burn any incense or paper money for her and she said she has no idea what those are.
In the end, Manfred’s mother cooked spaghetti and put the dish outside the house and asked for her not to disturb them again. Shortly after, the ghost left the Aunt’s body.
While I’ve always believed that the supernatural exists, this incident is a little too close for comfort. I’m officially freaked out!
