Seal Live at the Mastercard Priceless Event Launch Singapore 2012

I actually only found out on Thursday that Mastercard Singapore is doing an event and is bringing Seal in for an intimate performance in Singapore. Well, ok, they didn’t mention that it was Seal but they were going on about how it was an international artist who will perform for the first time in Singapore.

Needless to say, I have to find out who the artist is right? So for those of you who were following me on twitter, you’d have seen how I was going on and on with my guesses for a large part of the day. Thankfully, @RyanEdgeOfGlory told me it was Seal (because he saw Seal’s tweet) so at least I was able to go to bed in peace last night. 🙂

Fortunately, after combing through a whole network of people, I made it to the Mastercard Singapore Priceless Event Launch at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre.

Initially, I kinda wanted to slap the person who thought it was a good idea to do the event at the yet to be opened Marina Bay Cruise Centre which has no public transport except taxis serving the place. In fact, we had to make sure that the taxi driver even knew where the place was before we boarded. It really was quite a trip to get to the place.

We arrived the place so late and fortunately, the place was buzzing so we didn’t have to make a grand entrance (like how you walk into a lecture hall late and everyone looks at you). Haha. That would have been priceless. 🙂

Anyway, we arrived to see Vanessa Hernandez performing on one of the side stages.

I wasn’t really paying much attention to her performance (sorry!) as it was almost 8 pm and I was really hungry. Needless to say, food takes priority and I headed over to the food section.

After my first mouth of the food, I’m completely won over by everything. It tastes AWESOME (It was catered by celebrity chefs from Ritz Carlton I believe)! The food was so good, I kinda cared more about it than when Seal was actually going to perform. Haha. Then again, I was really hungry so…

Just as I finished the food and got a drink, barely 3 sips in and Seal walked in from the entrance and started his performance. I nearly dropped the glass actually. He quite literally walked down the whole length of the venue and danced amongst some lucky people before he got up on stage within a song.

It really was a very intimate performance as the crowd was pretty small. I’d guess that there were 300 ~ 400 people there? I’m very bad at estimating crowd size.

Seal performed for about 45 minutes and was alternating between singing and singing while playing on the guitar. Songs he sang inludes: Amazing, Kiss From a Rose and Crazy.

He did mention something about coming back to Singapore for a proper concert, so if you are a Seal fan, here’s hoping. 🙂

Here are photos of Seal at the Priceless Launch Event:

While this is not really my idea of a priceless experience, I definitely enjoyed myself. 🙂 There should be more of such events to come from Mastercard so let’s see…

Note: Just so you know, my idea of a priceless experience would be to see Britney sing LIVE for a full concert…
