The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards was aired live from the the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles this morning (9 am SG time).
Lady Gaga opened the show as Jo Calderone and started dissing herself before launching into “You & I”. (The awesome Brian May showed up on stage halfway through the performance as well.)
It was quite funny people a lot of celebrities in the audience were pretty confused over what’s happening on stage. It’s quite apparent that most of them are not up to date with what Lady Gaga is up to and probably don’t even realise that it’s her!! Britney, of coz, had the most epic face:
Another epic moment of the show was when Lady Gaga/Jo Calderone introduced Britney for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. When Britney went up to collect her award, Lady Gaga/Jo Calderone kissed Britney on her forehead and subsequently kept staring at Britney as if to move in for a kiss.
Everyone one was like “KISS!!! KISS!!! KISS!!” but Britney backed out in the end. Haha. Still, it didn’t stop Lady Gaga/Jo Calderone from staring “lecherously” at Britney the entire time Britney was on stage. Britney definitely looked very scared the entire time. Haha. It was like she was anticipating if Lady Gaga/Jo Calderone would go for it and just smooch her.
It’s definitely one of the major highlights during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.
Surprisingly as well, Lady Gaga remained as Jo Calderone for the entire Awards! There was no costume change whatsoever!
