Holy shit people! I met Joe Perry of Aerosmith at Day 2 of the YouTube Fan Fest!!!

OMG!!! If you guys don’t know, I love my rock bands and Aerosmith is one of those legendary acts which if you claim to be a music lover, you need to know who Aerosmith are and where they stand.

How I met Joe Perry was pretty epic really.

As you know from my last blog entry, I went to the press conference for the Day 2 names of the HP YouTube Fan Fest. So after the press conference, there was this 45 minutes interval so I went off to get some food. However, I didn’t know that the procedures from day 2 was going to be different from Day 1. For example, on the first say, with the press conference wrist band, we could just get into the Fan Fest.

So when I got back to the Ritz Carlton Ballroom for the Fan Fest, I was totally surprised that the people at the door and the organisers said that “Media cannot enter. You need a ticket to enter.” Seriously.

And in the end, I didn’t get the required wristband to attend Day 2 of the YouTube Fan Fest. Needless to say, I was miffed. However, in the midst of trying to sort out the issue, Joe Perry walked into my line of sight.

Holy crap.

Suddenly, it was like nothing else matters any more. I also didn’t really care about attending the YouTube Fan Fest any more. It’s like it’s Joe Perry from Aerosmith! He is legendary and who is everyone else?

So in the end, someone did tell me that I could enter the Fan Fest and like I said, I was miffed and while I was debating if I should still attend and blog about the Fan Fest, Joe Perry walked out.

Holy crap again.

I literally ran to grab my stuff and headed as quickly as I can to get to the main entrance/exit of the hotel. Within 2 seconds of reaching the main lobby, Joe Perry walked out of the lift.

Oh. My. God.

I must say that I was quite hesitant to approach Joe at first because I’m not very sure how he would react. He was all rock & roll man and I just didn’t know what to expect.

It turns out that all my worries were unfounded. Joe Perry is super cool and very, very nice despite him oozing so much of the “I’m too cool for you” (and hence kinda scary) vibe.

I was spazzing so badly that when Joe Perry actually said to me, “Nice shirt” I think I just went blank on him. Lol. And then as I went to stand beside him to take a picture, he repeated again, “Nice shirt”, I finally snapped out of it and replied, “Thank you”.

After the autograph and photo, I’m not sure where I found the courage to ask Joe Perry for a hug after squealing “I’m such a big fan!” Lol. I think Joe was very amused by the whole episode and I know for sure that @Dongho_Princess and @PopCultureBoy were laughing at me the entire time. But whatever you know. 🙂

It was such an epic night. Being denied entry at the door for the YouTube Fan Fest turned out to be such a blessing in disguise! 🙂
