Australian top selling male artist, singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian has come a long way since winning the first ever Australian Idol back in 2003.

11 years on, you can easily understand why Guy Sebastian is at the top of the game. The moment he came on stage to start the taping of MTV Sessions, he knew exactly what to say and do to get the crowd going. He has grown from that awkward guy with that big afro hair (oh yeah, I remember that hair) who just won a national reality-tv talent contest to a smooth and seasoned performer.

Setlist at the taping:

  1. Gold
  2. Who’s That Girl
  3. Don’t Worry, Be Happy
  4. Get Along
  5. Angels Brought Me Here
  6. Battle Scars
  7. Like It Like That with a little mash up with Thrift Shop by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
  8. Like A Drum
  9. Out of Love

I surprised myself by still knowing most of the words to “Angels Brought Me Here”. Hahahaha. Oh my god. It’s been at least 10 years since I consciously thought about that song.

Guy Sebastian also shared a little story behind “Get Along” which he wrote as a plea to the world just before his kid was born. You can find out what he said among other things during the show interview session halfway through the taping with MTV VJs Hanli and Alan.

The 1 hour taping was session was over so quickly. This MTV Sessions with Guy Sebastian is definitely one of the more fun taping sessions.
