McBusted Live in Melbourne 2015 Post Mortem

I flew down to Melbourne to catch McBusted live in concert at the Palais Theatre on 24 February 2015.

It was such drama to get there; my flight was delayed for 2 hours and I only landed in Melbourne around 4.30 pm (AU) and the doors opened at 7.00 pm (AU). It was pretty stressful to get out of Melbourne airport, dump the luggage at the hotel and head down to the venue. By some miracle, I actually managed to arrive at Palais Theatre at 6.45 pm (AU). Thank God!! This journey had a smaller time gap than when I went to Super Show 6 in Bangkok.

Anyway, I made it in time so that is all that matters. The opening band Masketta Fall hit the stage on the dot at 7.30 pm for a 30 minutes set.

I was pretty impressed by the spot on timing for Masketta Fall. They were pretty alright actually, quite similar to McBusted in terms of style but Masketta Fall has a punkier edge to them. However, I don’t know if it was the sound system in Palais Theatre or what but they didn’t sound very tight as a band. But that said, don’t write them off, they are a group worth looking out for.

McBusted took to the stage at 8. 40 pm (AU) or so, about 10 minutes after scheduled. Once the lights dimmed, the entire venue started screaming and EVERYONE stood up!

As the McBusted boys came on stage, everyone just went crazy! So did I. All the hassle that I had to go through to get there was all worth it to see McBusted play live on stage!

The last time I saw McFly was in 2010 during Jingle Bell Ball and this is the first time I’m watching them as McBusted and as their own standalone show as well. It was too amazing!! ALL THE FEELS!!!

I would so love to relive the entire concert again and in fact, during the concert, Matt said that they might be heading over to Australia later in 2015 for their own headlining tour!! Guess who might be flying down to Australia again this year? LOL.

McBusted sounded amazing live and if it wasn’t for their ad-libs, they sound exactly like the CD. They are the real deal and they don’t have none of that auto-tune shit.

Dougie was crazy and hilarious as usual. He was the one who was yakking the most and making the crowd do crazy things. Hahaha. In fact, he picked a girl from the audience and made her come on stage, lie face down and do the slug dance.

Also, Alex from All Time Low surprised everyone on and off stage when he appeared mid-song during “Get Over It”. Like WOW!! Why don’t we have surprises like this in Singapore?

I could also go on about McBusted/McFly forever but I shall not. Haha. I’ll leave you all with the photos of McBusted which came out decent from the concert in Melbourne. Enjoy yourselves!
