I was intending to post this when I was in Taipei but given that it’s my first ever trip to Taipei, I ended up exploring Taipei and didn’t get to this till now. Haha.
I have always wanted to watch a Super Show or a Super Junior related fanmeet/concert in Taiwan because of all the things I’ve seen and heard about the audience there and how the Super Junior members really love it in Taiwan.
So when the Super Junior D&E concert tour date was announced, I started looking into making it happen. I had wanted to go for Super Show 6 in Taiwan but the dates clashed with something else in Singapore so I didn’t go in the end.
When I saw that the dates were feasible, I started planning and hunting for tickets on the black market with a friend. From the time that my secured tickets for the second concert date, everything just fell into place so easily, almost like a sign that I was destined to go. LOL. Everything was in my favour, from the cheap airfare to accommodation price.

I know it probably sounds crazy to the non-fangirls/boys to fly to Taipei to watch the same concert over two days; actually, my colleagues in Taiwan did tell me I was crazy more than 5 times when I was there. LOL.
Still, I thought that since I made such an effort to fly over, I should get tickets to the first day as well. So yeah, I went for both day 1 and 2 of the concert in the end.
No regrets. Totally. And I’d do the same all over again if I could. No doubts or hesitation.

Super Junior members are always entertaining. There is hardly ever a dull moment around them. Even though it is only Eunhyuk and Donghae in this sub-unit, their bromance and nonsense is more than enough to make up for the absence of the other members.
The Xinzhuang Gymnasium New Taipei City is a pretty small venue; it is smaller than our Singapore Indoor Stadium. I’d say that it’s probably the size of our Max Pavilion or so. We were packed like sardines in the standing pit (day 1) and here was hardly any space to move or jump or dance in there.
Still, it was all fun because of the proximity to D&E and I got a really good view of them from standing pit C, right in front of the extended runway stage.
I was at the seats in Day 2 but despite not having a fantastic view while seated, it was still a very enjoyable concert because of all the bullshit that D&E were sprouting when they paused to talk and interact with the fans. Haha.
10 years into the game, these 2 people are pros and they had everyone wrapped around their finger lapping up every single word. The lights, sound and stage hardly even mattered at all. Their entertainment value is in their often hilarious and crazy talk between songs.

True to all the fan accounts that I have ever read, Eunhyuk and Donghae are super casual and comfortable in Taiwan. They were interacting and talking to the fans like old friends. Both D&E and the fans were trolling/teasing each other throughout the entire concert on both days!
A good example would be this: the song “촉이 와 (Can You Feel It?)” is a massive fan favourite and it has this really cute and fun “chokchok” dance at the chorus.
The fans would usually demand that D&E do an encore performance (of the chorus) and in the Japanese leg of the tour, D&E obliged a couple of times. However on Day 1, to troll D&E, we held up a banner to say that “there are no events/fan projects today” and D&E were like, “we will not repeat choki wa if you don’t do any fan projects”.
So true enough, there wasn’t any fan projects for the entire Day 1 except the beginning and the end and D&E refused to give into the fans demands for a “choki wa” encore. LOL.

And on the second day, D&E were complaining that “choki wa” is a very tiring song as they have to jump around so much (as if it wasn’t tiring for us to be jumping and dancing along with them!). Then they spotted a banner that said, “힘들려죠? 늙었어요.” or something like that. It means “You’re tired right? You are old!” LOL!! D&E got “offended” and jokingly told the 3 fans holding the banner: “你们三个出去!” (translation: 3 of you, get out). Those were their exact words! Hahaha.
There were plenty other cute and memorable moments from the concert but I shall not flood you with all the details. I will however, leave you with the photos which turned out well from both days and some Instavids from the concerts.
The rapport between the Super Junior D&E members and the Taiwanese fans are highly enviable. I dare say that this Super Junior D&E concert experience ranks as one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to ever in terms of artist interaction and audience participation.

I am thankful that I am lucky enough to be able to catch them before they enlist. 5 years of Super Junior stan-ing and EunHae shipping, I seriously have no idea what to do without them for possibly the next 2 years or so.
Finally,
