When I watched Britney in concert at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas in November 2015, I did not think that when I wrote “I’d do it all over again if I could” I would really get to do it all over again. In Singapore even. I was thinking that I’d do it all over again when I went to Las Vegas again.
Anyway, be it Vegas or Singapore, it was all good and Britney is still Godney. The Singapore stage was obviously not as elaborate as the one in Las Vegas but it was similar enough and it didn’t really change anything much with regards to the concert experience.
However, it was a bit of a shame that the concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium was on 20 June 2017, a Friday night, and I was pretty exhausted from a week of work even before the concert started.
Here was the setlist for the night:
- Work Bitch
- Womaniser
- Break The Ice / Piece of Me
- Baby One More Time / Oops! I Did It Again
- Me Against The Music
- Gimme More
- Scream & Shout / Boys
- Do You Wanna Come Over?
- Get Naked / I’m A Slave 4 U
- Make Me
- Freak Show
- Do Somethin’
- Circus
- If U Seek Amy
- Breathe On Me
- Slumber Party
- Touch Of My Hand
- Toxic
- Stronger / (You Drive Me) Crazy
- ENCORE: Till The World Ends
The show started at 8.10 pm and ended at around 9.45 pm. Even though the setlist in Singapore was a bit longer than the one in Las Vegas, the concert still felt like it was too short! 😅 I didn’t want it to end even though I was so damn tired.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; it really doesn’t matter if Britney sings live or not. She is a great performer and entertainer. And she is still at the top of the game. Period.
The highlight and talking point of the concert was when Britney sang a birthday song live for her bodyguard of 5 years, Jacob:
She isn’t the strongest singer for sure but I’ve seen and heard worse so she certainly doesn’t deserve most the shit she has been receiving. Please ask yourself if you can do better than her before you even say anything negative. And you better have video proof that you can do better, if not, you should just shut up. #justsaying

I must say that I was really surprised when Britney did “If U Seek Amy”. That song created quite a stir and was quite controversial when it was released back in 2008 and I never thought for a moment that I’d ever get to hear that song live. In Singapore even. Like wow. And even after almost 10 years since the song was released, I still know every word to the song.
That’s the thing about Britney’s songs. Yes they are dance/EDM based and not really about vocals but there’s a classic/evergreen element to it. It can be 10 years later and you will still know the lyrics to the song. That’s longevity.
Oh and one more thing, I was pretty excited about “Freak Show” because I knew they’d get someone on stage but the Singapore guy was kinda meh to be honest. I guess I was expecting someone who would lap it all up like one of the guys in the Bangkok show:
Complete with stripper crawl and all. Hahahahahaha. My Thai friend told me that this guy is a Thai celebrity so it probably explains why he was beyond ready to ham it up. Hahahaha.
Anyway, all in all, was it worth the S$472.00 (inclusive of fees) ticket price I paid? Not really, $350 would have been more acceptable for my ticket category and it didn’t help that I know some of my friends managed to get free tickets to the show at the last minute.
But, whatever. What’s done is done so let’s move on and keep on dancing till the world ends.
