This had to be done; I’ve been in love a fan of Mark Read a1 since 1998. Plus, I had to miss their last concert in Singapore back in 2016 because I was in London. The irony. So I have to make up for it now.
I have almost every single a1 album (and a couple of single CDs) and I knew it would be a stretch to get them all signed. After some deliberation, I thought that I should ask a1 to sign on “Here We Come” since it was the 20th anniversary of a1 debut.
I was pretty much reduced back to being a teenage screaming fan girl when a1 first appeared at the baggage claim area at the Singapore Changi Airport. I was actually trembling all over from the excitement.
As the 4 of them walked out of the baggage claim area, Ben/Mark was saying that they were told that they weren’t supposed to stop but:
LOL.
Ben, Mark, Christian and Paul kept stopping every few steps to oblige and take photos and/or sign autographs for everyone. They were incredibly friendly and sweet; exactly the same as what I remember of them when I met them for the first time back in 1999/2000 or so on one of their promotional trip to Singapore.
One thing was very clear throughout the entire time Ben, Mark, Christian and Paul walked out from baggage claim all the way to their bus – they were in a good mood and very happy to be back in Singapore.
At one point, I heard Mark saying how it was such a shame that they were only staying for 1 night in Singapore. Back when they were in Singapore promoting their albums, they would quite literally stay in Singapore for at least 3~5 days each time.
I don’t know when a1 is going to come back to Singapore again for whatsoever reason but I definitely can’t wait for it!
