[19 June 2012 | IMPORTANT NOTICE]
JASON DERULO is no longer in the artist lineup for this event. There will be a replacement act to be announced soon. Watch this space.
The Straits Times turns 167 this year and to celebrate, they’re throwing a concert at the new and soon to open Gardens by the Bay and a party at Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa on 15 July 2012.
They’ve got Jason Derulo, Boys Like Girls and Kpop group 4Minute. Also performing are Singaporean jazz flautist, Rit Xu, Singapore Idols Taufik Batisah and Hady Mirza, as well as ChildAid performers Amni Musfirah and Sophia Joe.
This would be Jason Derulo’s first gig in Singapore (unless he was here for some private show that I didn’t know about). I remember watching him at the Jingle Bell Ball back in 2010 and how everyone in O2 would sing “Jason Deruuulo” everytime it comes on during this song. He’s pretty cool to watch.
I must be so deep into Kpop now coz I actually kinda wanna watch 4Minute more than Jason Derulo and Boys Like Girls. Hahaha. Dang!
Anyway, tickets are priced at SGD 67 for The Straits Times readers and SGD 75 for the rest of you. No details on when the tickets are going on sale and where at this point in time.
The tickets also entitle you to a private sundown party in August at the Universal Studios Singapore in Resorts World Sentosa. You get to enjoy all the rides and get a goodie bag. Don’t think the entrance fee to Sentosa is included.

Thanks to the ST Star Event people (organizers) for confirming that each group will perform a 45 minutes set each. And pointing out that tickets are SGD 67 each for ST subscribers and not 69 as I typo-ed earlier.
