JJ Abrams was spotted in Singapore today and apparently, he was in town to promote his new movie Super 8.

Friends confirms that JJ Abrams is in town and had a press conference today with a few of the kids who were in the movie. However, they weren’t sure or able to confirm which of the kids were in town. It seems like Steven Spielberg didn’t come along. I would have loved to meet him.

It amuses and annoys me that there is a piece of Hollywood in Singapore doing promotion for a new movie and there isn’t much of a fanfare about it. I mean, what’s the point of calling it a promotion if no one knows about it?

I wasn’t able to head over to try to catch JJ Abrams as a result. What a bummer!! I wanted to tell JJ Abrams that he can’t just make Peter Bishop irrelevant to the story line in Fringe by making him disappear in that season finale. He needs to have more scenes of Peter Bishop and Olivia Dunham together. Oh and how I hate Walternate and the other side. And finally, I want to thank and congratulate him on the renewal of Fringe.

Anyway, Super 8 opens in cinemas island wide on 9 June 2011. Here’s the trailer and it actually looks intriguing!
