First up, I must thank the awesome and nice people at MTV Asia (Viacom International Media Networks, Viacom Inc) and Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral (Starwood Hotels & Resorts) for the invitation to head up to the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral (Aloft KL Sentral) to experience the kick-start of the “Live at Aloft Hotels” collaboration between MTV and Aloft Hotels.

However, due to a flight delay, I missed most of the set by The Light Fantastic, a malaysian female duo. Booo. I actually only arrived at the hotel in time to see them do their last 2 songs.

Oh well. You guys can go check out The Light Fantastic at the W XYZ bar (Ground Floor) every Friday from 7.00 – 9.00 pm.

That said, the W XYZ bar is pretty cool. If you want to just chill/hang out with your friends, they have games lying around the place which you can play. It’s really cozy.

The highlight amongst all the games that they have placed in various places of the ground floor is the Kinect console at the lift lobby.

In line with the Aloft Hotels collaboration with MTV, they loaded “Just Dance 4” into the XBox console. And needless to say, it is very hard to resist not trying to play a song or two before you take the lift up to your room to retire for the night when you come back from wherever in the day.

I don’t know really know how to explain this but there’s a very interesting thing that goes on around the Xbox Kinect at most times of the day.

Most people would feel very shy about playing “Just Dance 4” in a public space but when they see no one/not many people around, they give it a go and the next thing you know, people will start gathering behind the player(s). Haha.

On the Friday night that I arrived, I saw some guys in office wear who came to the hotel for some drinks at the rooftop bar and then they started playing “Just Dance 4”. It was quite an entertaining sight I must say. Hahaha. I was so temped to make an Instavid of them but I dropped the idea in the end so as not to invade into their privacy.

So yes, you can pop into the Aloft Hotel lobby to lounge/chill at the W XYZ bar or give the Kinect a go if you have a few hours to spare; especially if you are en route to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport via KL Sentral.

Aloft KL Sentral is right beside the KL Sentral building. Just look for the KLIA Ekpress Departure Hall, EXIT the building and turn LEFT. Aloft KL Sentral is across the street. Check out the map as well.
