Bigstar was the final act to arrive at SM City Manila for the KNation fansign event on 4 October 2014. They were also the most anticipated artist at the fansign because it was their first time in The Philippines as Bigstar. (If you didn’t know, Raehwan/Larry studied English in The Philippines for a while.)
Bigstar was also the primary reason why I went to Manila for this KNation event. LOL. emily.nur knew that telling me about Kiseop and Friends at KNation will do nothing in her scheme to get me to accompany her to Manila; name-drop Bigstar for a bit and I’m sold. I really, really like and love Bigstar that much.
So when the organisers changed the fansign to allow selfies and hugs with Bigstar, I was ecstatic!! Suddenly, this trip to Manila was the best decision I have ever made in 2014.
And coz I suck at taking selfies as you can see from those I took with 4Ladies, while in the queue waiting to go up on stage, I was really nervous and I kept practising to take selfies with emily.nur. LOL.
When I got close enough to the table on the stage, I was totally not ok. I was completely freaking out inside. Haha. I was really thankful that Jude was fluent in English because at that point, I’m was so excited that I couldn’t really speak coherently anymore.
Jude was really surprised that I was from Singapore and that I had actually saw them perform in Seoul at Namsam just about one year ago. After he signed on my Bigstar albums, I knew that I couldn’t keep my hand steady enough to take selfies so I asked Jude to take the selfie and here they are:

Jude is such a sweetheart.
Next up was Baram.
Baram is my favourite member in Bigstar. Hahaha. I like Baram not just because he’s hot; I love the manly swag vibe that he gives off and his insane dancing blows my mind every single time.
Needless to say, I got Baram to take the selfie because I knew I wouldn’t have been able to get the shot. I was just trembling too much!

Just before I moved off, I asked Baram for a hug (I had to right!) and as I hugged him, I remembered that I should tell him “Happy Birthday” because his birthday was a few days later on 8 October 2014. So I wished him a “Happy Birthday” as we hugged and as we backed out of the hug, Baram said “thank you” in English just by my ear. OH MY GOD. His voice. OMG. I cannot even begin to describe the effects of his baritone voice on my eardrums. I just totally died a few times over inside.
I must confess that when I moved on to Sunghak, I had absolutely no idea what happened, what I said to Sunghak or what Sunghak said to me. LOL. My mind was still blank from that “thank you” by Baram. 성학이야, 죄송한다.
I only remembered that Sunghak saw my card where I wrote “싱가포르에서 조이스 입니다 (I am Joyce from Singapore)” he stopped signing, looked at me with a visibly moved/shocked(?)/suprised(?) expression and then he hugged me.

That was all that I can remember about the fansign with Sunghak. I don’t remember how I got/ask Sunghak to take the selfie even. Hahaha. I just know that I left with the feeling that Sunghak is the absolute sweetest and nicest member in Bigstar and a bias-wrecker.
Then I moved to Raehwan. I still haven’t recovered by then. I really have no idea what happened. LOL. Sorry Larry. 래환이, 너한테도 죄송한다.
I only remembered Raehwan asking me if he could sign over the Bigstar logo on the “Bigstart” album. He was like, I quote him, “Can I be here?” He was quite happy when I said, “Ok, you can sign wherever you like.”
Raehwan is my number 2 favourite member in Bigstar and I was saying before I went on stage that I should give Baram and Raehwan a guy. And now, guess what? I don’t know if I hugged Raehwan or not. Hahaha. I failed so badly. Sad face.
Anyway, here are the selfies with Raehwan, taken by Raehwan:

Finally, I arrived at Feeldog. I could feel myself coming back but I still wasn’t ok. I don’t really remember what happened at the beginning but I do remember that I tried to Korean with Feeldog but it didn’t exactly come out right but fortunately, he still understood me. Thank you!
I told Feeldog that it would be nice to be able to see them in Singapore when I next meet them (다음에 싱가포르에서 만날 수 있으면 좋겠다). Feeldog said, “I promise” and I put my pinky out to him and we did a pinky promise. Haha.
Same thing, I asked Feeldog to take the selfie and then I asked to give him a hug before I left the stage.

Here are my signed Bigstar albums:

The boys of Bigstar are an ABSOLUTE darling now that I got to interact with them after one year of kicking myself over a missed opportunity back in Seoul.
I am definitely going to step up in pestering my friends to get Bigstar to Singapore for a showcase/fan meeting now. Spread the word of Bigstar y’all and I’ll try to do whatever I can to make it happen!
That said, here are all the photos that came out at the Bigstar part of the fansign event at SM City Manila. Unfortunately, my camera failed on me after the M.Pire fansign so I ended up taking photos mostly with my phone after I got off the stage… but anyway, enjoy!
