Kevin Woo ‘KOSMIC’ Tour Japan 2024

In November 2023, Kevin Woo (ex-U-KISS member) announced his “KOSMIC” Japan Tour starting in Osaka on 27 January 2024 and ending in Tokyo on 14 February 2024. I missed the opportunity to go for this Japan concert last year as it was announced with too little notice. However, this time, the announcement came much earlier, giving me ample time to make plans so I was determined to be there.

9 February 2024 – 1st Concert

On 9 February 2024, I headed straight to the venue FCLive Tokyo. While I was exhausted from the flight, I was really happy to see Kevin perform again.

He looked perfect as always although I was a little disappointed that his hair is not blonde anymore. Regardless, I was really hyped to see Kevin performing my favourite songs “Over You”, “Got It” and “Ride Along”.

As with all Japanese concerts, phototaking is not allowed but there was a photo taking segment where the fans are allowed to take photos of him as he struck various poses on stage.

I went for the meet and greet after the concert but I did not opt for the fansign event as Kevin would only be signing on a photocard. I always lose photocards and I think even this one which would have be signed by Kevin would be no exception.

Hi Kevin, if you are reading this, would you consider to sign on your album as well? I have loads of your albums and I would love to get it signed by you. #JustSaying

Anyway, I’m still super glad that I got to meet him.

Kevin: Emily!!! You’re here!!!

Me: *Blanks out* (How could this be?? Kevin still remembers me???)

Kevin: How have you been?? It’s so nice to see you again!

Me: I’m good! Yeah, I managed to get here in one piece. (Wait what?! LOL. Honestly I was super exhausted and it was all filters off.) Kevin, you were awesome  on stage!

Kevin: Oh thank you! (Actually he said a lot more but… I zoned out, I still can’t believe that I’m in Japan and now talking to KEVIN WOO!)

We posed for a selfie, and he asked if he would be seeing me again before I flew back to Singapore. I said “YES! I flew here just for you!”

When I walked out of the room, a Clover that I had befriended earlier that day reminded me that I had another ticket and she ushered me back into the room and helped me communicate with the staff that I had another ticket. The staff then told Kevin that I had another ticket and let me back into the room.

Kevin (gave me the sweetest smile): Emily, how could you forget?!

Me: (Started blabbering while looking at the wall in embarrassment and trying not to burst out in laughter) Well, it’s because I’m nervous! It’s been SUCH a long time since we met Kevin.

Kevin: YEAH! It has been! … when was the last time…?

Both of us looked at each other after a few seconds and said in unison: 2019 in SINGAPORE!

Kevin: Wow, it’s been 5 years that’s too long ago! I’m glad you’re here.

Me: Yeah… that’s why I really wanted to make it work this year and I’m glad I made it.

Kevin gave me a hug and told me to eat lots of delicious food while I am in Japan and to enjoy myself while I’m at it. Such a sweetheart.

After I left, I realised that I didn’t smile in our photo!! ARGH!! I beat myself up mentally for a bit over it but in consolation, I would be seeing him again and I’m determined to take a better photo then.

11 January 2024 – 2nd Concert

My weekend getaway in Tokyo was coming to an end and I decided that I had to go to another of Kevin’s concerts to say a proper “till we meet again” to Kevin.

The 11 February 2024 concert held so much memories for me.

with Sachi

I met Sachi, a Kiseop-biased KissMe, before the concert started to catch up. Sachi then decided to accompany me to Kevin’s concert and introduced me to a few Clovers and Kevin’s mum who was there that day. I was so nervous and shy around Kevin’s mum. Maybe it was because I was trembling so much, she kept reassuring me that it’s ok and to take my time. She was so kind and appreciative that I had flew all the way from Singapore to support Kevin.

The concert was free seating and Sachi made sure that I was at the best seat to get the best possible view of Kevin. Her Clover friend was also super lovely to let me have one of her lightstick for the concert.

Honestly, it’s been a while since I had fully enjoyed a concert; I was jumping, dancing, singing and cheering wholeheartedly for Kevin from the start until the end. It was also very memorable to have my good friend beside me to share the moment. At one point, Kevin’s sexy moves made both of us swoon all over him. Hahaha.

I was fighting back tears when Kevin started to perform the last song. It’s 5 long years since I got to see Kevin again. It’s especially hard now since he moved to the USA. The thought of not knowing when will be the next time I will get to see him again is just too sad.

I barely managed to hold myself together and took a deep breath to go to the meet and greet after the concert as I needed to take that better photo.

Kevin: Emily! OMG you look so good! (he then pointed to my jacket that has ‘K’ on it) Ohhhh nice jacket – K!

Me: YES haha! K for KEVIN! Nice?

Kevin: It’s so cute, where did you find it?!

Me: Harajuku! (giggles) I just had to get it coz it reminds me of you.

We took quite some time to have our selfie taken this time because we wanted to replicate a certain pose we did not manage to 5 years ago. LOL. Kevin is being super sweet as always despite our failed attempts. LOL. That said, I did enjoy every moment of it.

I then removed my jacket because I wanted a selfie with Kevin while wearing Kiseop’s RDVZ sweater.

with Kevin Woo

Kevin: OH!!! You’re wearing Kiseop’s RDVZ!!! CUTE!

I really love how observant Kevin is.

Me: Yes! I just have to get a photo with you while wearing this!

When we were done with the selfies, I told Kevin that I would not be going for his second stage that day as I needed to pack my luggage and fly back to Singapore.

Kevin: Thank you so much for coming and have a safe travel back to Singapore. (Kevin made a heart with both his hands) I love you, Take care Emily.

I did not wait for the meet and greet to end and I left the building immediately. I could feel tears forming at the corner of my eyes and I didn’t want the happy moments with Kevin to be marred with memories of my tears.

As a Kpop Idol, I’m pretty sure Kevin has encountered lots of fans. Some come, some go and some stay through thick and thin. While I might not be very active online or in person, I hope that he knows that I’ve always been there supporting him.

Kevin, thank you for the memories and for always being so kind. I don’t know when and where, but I hope to see you again soon.
