MTV Sessions with Vanness Wu @ Waterfront Studios, RWS

Last night was the recording of the first ever MTV Sessions featuring Vanness Wu in the spanking new Waterfront Studios at Resorts World Sentosa. I was super stoked to be one of the members of the audience for the inaugural recording session.

The intimacy of the MTV Sessions

Before I start ranting and raving, I would like to thank awesome people at MTV Asia, Zesta, Canon Legria and Resorts World Sentosa for making this event happen. 🙂

MTV Sessions: Vanness Wu

The session was really intimate and exclusive as the maximum number of people allowed in the room was 200 (and this included the staff and crew). The fans who were lucky enough to be there were totally awestruck by how close they were to Vanness.

In such an intimate acoustic set and setting, when it started, I get the sense that Vanness felt a bit awkward coz the audience were too shy to scream for the fear of ruining the recording or something. 🙂

Fortunately, after a while, the fans started acting like fans and were shouting their adulation and love for Vanness. Some of the things they said were hilarious. Hahaha. I’m not sure if they will edit it out of the show or not.

Thinking deeply during "Twitter Time"

There was also a chance for fans to pose questions to Vanness via Twitter and Facebook which he answered during the recording.

Vanness did an acoustic set of 8 songs:

  1. ET (cover of Katy Perry’s song)
  2. 哎呀 (Ai Ya)
  3. Knockin’ <<< my favourite song
  4. Kissing a Fool
  5. A Korean song with a title I can’t catch… sorry After the End of Tonight
  6. Have Yourself a Merry Christmas
  7. 爱没走 (Ai Mei Zou)
  8. The Way You Make Me Feel (cover of Michael Jackson’s song)

I definitely enjoyed the recording session a lot and can’t wait to find out who is the artist in the next installment of MTV Sessions!

MTV Sessions with Vanness Wu will be aired on 1 January 2012 at 6pm (SG/HK) on MTV Asia. MTV China on Monday, 30th January at 6.00pm. MTV Taiwan on Saturday, 14 January at 11.00pm. MTV Vietnam on Monday, 9 January at 10.00pm.

Finally, here are the rest of my photos which turned out. Enjoy!
