The 2013 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards was held in Brooklyn for the first time ever in the history of the Awards show. Must say that this is definitely one of the better editions of the awards shows throughout the years that I watched.
Firstly, Lady Gaga opened the show performing her new single “Applause” live for the very first time. Honestly, I was really excited because it’s Lady Gaga and I’m really sure that she would come up with something refreshing/new that no one has really every attempted before.

When she started in that white whatever she was wearing thing, I was like “o.O? What was she wearing?” Then as the performance of “Applause” went on, I realised that Lady Gaga was going through her wigs and an essence of her outfits throughout her career (denoted by her albums) so far. It was REALLY AMAZING how she managed to change her costume, wigs and make up while singing AND dancing.
You can watch the performance of “Applause” here:
BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE, I say. If you have done stage/theatre work before, you will know how AMAZING Lady Gaga’s performance is and you will know what she means by “ArtPop”. I so totally get it.
And needless to say, the HIGHLIGHT and BEST PERFORMANCE of the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards for me was Justin Timberlake and the “rumoured” N*Sync performance.

Justin Timberlake brought the house down in Brooklyn (and the MTV Asia office in Singapore) with his medley performance. And then came the moment that everyone was waiting for, the performance and reunion of N*Sync!!

*Weeps at the awesome-ness*

Watch the highly anticipated N*Sync performance here:
I was in tears. I LOVE N*Sync and when they did that teensy-weensy bit of “Bye Bye Bye” I died a little inside. *sobs* What I’d do to watch N*Sync live in concert.
Also, I really LOVE how Jimmy Fallon has to emphasize on “I’m saying DICK IN A BOX!!” as he presented JT with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. LOL. No doubt that “Dick in a Box” was one of the most EPIC and hilarious thing that JT has ever done.
You can watch Jimmy Fallon presenting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award to Justin Timberlake here:
And you can watch the hilarious acceptance speech by Justin Timberlake here:
I love how JT started his thank you speech with “I don’t deserve this award but I’m not going to give it back. I’m going to take it home.” and how he shared the award with the other N*Sync members but “we can keep the award in my house.” LOL!!!

Also, even though I am a fan of Kanye West and Bruno Mars, after the JT and N*Sync performance, nothing else really mattered/registered. I’m sorry. It’s like, who cares man? JT in da house with N*Sync and they just performed on stage. Mind = blown.
