Earlier today, Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore opened its doors to the public and I was invited to take a tour of Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore to get a glimpse of the hotel and within. It is the first of a new mid-range hotels by the Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd in the world!
I definitely liked what I saw. Located directly above Orchardgateway, Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore is connected Orchardgateway, 313 Somerset, Orchard Central and Somerset MRT. The location is just perfect as it is sitting in the middle of Orchard Road.

Also, even if you are not staying in Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore, it’s worth to give the Lounge @ Jen (Level 10) a visit for the awesome view of Orchard Road! I can imagine that this would be a particularly good place to get a view of the Christmas light up!
Check out the view of Orchard Road from the Lounge @ Jen:
We were first lead to Makan@Jen, the signature restaurant, on the tour.

The modern and clean design makes the place feel very bright and spcaious, which I really like. I particularly like the outdoor dining area of the restaurant:

If the weather is great, it’ll be a really nice place to chill out.

We went through the lobby area to head up to check out the rooms and just case you were wondering, the dude in green with ‘J’ painted on his back is only there because it is the hotel opening and launch today. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t see him when you check in. 🙂

The first room which we saw was the ‘Premier Panorama’ room. The view the room has of Orchard Road is really fantastic!! I cannot emphasize the awesome view enough.

The people at Hotel Jen take the meaning of ‘Premier Panorama’ very seriously by also ensuring that you get a view even when you are taking a bath.

We then went on to take a look at the Deluxe Room and this is my kind of room. It’s spacious and there is a ledge to sit on by the window to watch the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road.

The Superior Room is the final category of rooms available within Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore that we visited. The Superior Room is a little too small for my liking and I need to give you guys some heads up on the toilet in the room. LOL. It’s the frosted glass type (there is a slider door you can close but I don’t know how far it goes) so yeah, you’ve been warned if you’re travelling with a friend and plan on booking this room category. The toilets in the other room categories are the regular kind of toilets… You know, with opaque walls.

After visiting the various rooms, we went on to the Club Lounge on the 19th Floor. The view from the Club Lounge is pretty amazing as well. Check it out:

The last stop of the hotel tour was the swimming pool. It is an infinity pool and it also has a view.

If you pardon the slight haze we had today in the photos, the view from the swimming pool is also pretty lovely. Come to think about it, the night view in Singapore is actually quite pretty if you look at it from a height.
All that said, the biggest draw of Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore for me is the location and FREE WIFI!!! Oh yeah!! Free wifi that actually works is very important. In fact, free wifi is the second criterion I use to decide if I want to stay in a particular place when I go on holidays. Can’t live without (free) wifi.
There you have it. The low down about Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore and what else you can expect from the other Hotel Jen range of hotels.
Hope this helps! 🙂
