Amazingly, this is my 5th time watching Cantopop group Grasshopper in concert in the last 6 years. This is the 2nd time I specifically went over to Genting Highlands to watch a Grasshopper concert.
It just doesn’t get old. Despite their newer songs which are pretty nice, everyone still loves their old songs in the 2 hour and 40 minutes concert. Those upbeat songs never fails to get the crowd all excited and on their feet.
This is Grasshopper’s 31st year in the music business and those guys must be almost 50 years old if not older than that. And given their age, they are still possess such amazing stamina and energy.
I was actually quite surprised that the general age of the audience isn’t as old as you’d expect it to be. There are a lot of young adults in the audience as well! A testament to the evergreen and classic appeal of Grasshopper and their songs.
Also, they are not afraid to experiment with fashion (which is mostly styled by Calvin):

Which is pretty damn cool!

Remus even wore a pair of high heeled boots! Kudos man. Those shoes hurts like hell. Remember, you don’t have the right to scoff at him unless you have worn a pair of heels that high for at least 5 minutes.
As always, when the house lights came on, the crowd kept chanting “ENCORE!!” and refused to leave. Usually, when the house lights come on, it means that the concert has ended. The venue was even playing the “concert has ended” announcement on loop but no one cared. Hahaha.
I knew from the last Grasshopper concert in Genting that it is very likely that Grasshoppers will come out again for an encore after the house lights come on due to audience demands. They did 3 encores the last time. So knowing that, I ran down to stand in front of the stage in that time and true enough, Grasshopper came out to do another 1 song encore with the house lights on before calling it a night for real. LOL.
Fun times.
Anyway, this concert in Genting is the first date in their Music Walker World Tour. I’m seriously considering going for their Hong Kong and/or Las Vegas date because it’s an excuse/justification to go there again. Hahaha.
Here’s hoping!
