Super Show 7S (SS7S) was announced to take place at KSPO Dome in Seoul on 2 & 3 March 2019. It was a tough decision to go or not. I needed to be back in Singapore by 7 March 2019 because I already bought tickets to the Maroon 5 “Red Pills Blue” Tour last year. AND I was booked to go to Japan for a holiday from 8 – 17 March 2019.
Fortunately, insanity prevailed and I decided to go. 🙂
The Super Junior “Super Show” concert series usually ended with an encore performance in Seoul. However, this time around, they didn’t call the concert “encore” but it was “Super Show 7S”.
It lead to a lot of jokes in the fandom about what the “S” meant. Like “S” meant “Special” or “Seated” or it was just following the naming conventions of the iPhone. LOL. It became such a huge thing on the internet that Eunhyuk, a member of Super Junior and also the concert director, got annoyed and posted on his Instagram that Super Show 7S “is not iPhone”.
However, the “S” became an even bigger joke because during the concert, Eunhyuk confessed that he too, doesn’t know the meaning of the “S”.
Anyway, here is the setlist for both nights:
- Black Suit — with piano intro by Ryeowook
- MAMACITA (아야야)
- Super Man
- Don’t Don
- Mr Simple
- One More Time (Otra Vez)
- 너라고 (It’s You)
- Yesung solo: 너 아니면 안 돼 (It Had To Be You)
- Ryeowook solo: 취해 (Drunk In The Morning)
- Yesung & Ryeowook: 광화문에서 (At Gwanghwamun)
- Donghae solo on the electric guitar: 머리부터 발끝까지 (About You) / 지독하게 (Lost)
- D&E: 머리부터 발끝까지 (About You)
- D&E: 떴다 오빠 (Oppa, Oppa) / 촉이 와 (Can You Feel It?)
- 로꾸거 (Rokkugo)
- Pyjama Party
- Heechul & KyungHoon (Day 1) & Eunghyuk (Day 2): 나비잠 (Sweet Dream)
- Siwon solo
- Shindong & UV: Cheer Man
- UV: Itaewon Freedom
- Super Duper / Rockstar / Let’s Dance
- Eunhuk solo: Illusion
- Sorry, Sorry
- 미인아 (BONAMANA)
- Leeteuk solo: Marry Me
- I Do (두 번째 고백)
- You Are The One
- Shining Star
- ENCORE: Devil
- ENCORE: Wow Wow Wow
- ENCORE: Miracle
SS7S is pretty much a new show although it is about half the same setlist of Super Show 7 when they started.
For both days, SS7S did not extend past 3 hours and 15 minutes which is great time keeping on their part. LOL. I think this is the shortest ever Super Shows that I ever attended in Seoul. Most times, Super Junior talks too much (not complaining) and the concert goes on for about 4 hours.
Eunhyuk really did a good job as the concert director I must say. 혁재야, 잘 했어! I love all the costumes and stage as well.
Super Show 7S Highlights
I really love how Eunhyuk specifically created parts of the concert to include Ryeowook in since he was only just recently discharged from the army. Eunhyuk even got Ryeowook to open the concert with a piano performance which ended with the signature arpeggio intro of “Black Suit”.
Anyway, I leave you all with this fancam from day 2 of #SS7S

I always like it when Super Junior demonstrate their musician side which is often overlooked just because they are idols and they clown around on stage a lot.
Super Junior takes their job of entertaining us fans very seriously. They are often willing to do the dumbest and most embarrassing possible things for the sake of making us, the fans, laugh. I definitely appreciate their efforts and did laugh a lot during SS7S. No tears this time around.
I absolutely loved how they brought back “Superman” back into the setlist. This is an extremely powerful song in terms of the lyrics and it made everyone insanely happy and in awe to see Super Junior sit on thrones and look like Kings while performing this song.
The first surprise of the night has got to be the “female” student version of “Runaway”.
For the entire Super Show 7 tour, Super Junior were dressed as high school students for the performance of “Runaway”, which is incredibly fun! However, for “7S”, they decided to mix it up and perform the song as “female” students.
Everyone was surprised for about 10 seconds before we burst into hysterics, whipped out the smart phones to take as much photos and videos as we could without getting caught. It was too epic. Most of the Super Junior members look horrifying as females just so you know. LOL. But some of them are so pretty and they know it. LMAO.
There were also special guests like Min Kyung Hoon who performed 나비잠 (Sweet Dream) with Heechul and UV who performed Cheer Man with Shindong!
I was legit screaming so hard when Min Kyung Hoon appeared on day 1 without warning! This is the first time 나비잠 (Sweet Dream) has been performed live ever. However, on the second day, when Heechul appeared, he said that Kyunghoon couldn’t come as he had other schedules. I thought like, ok, Heechul would sing the entire song on his own. Then to all our surprise, Eunhyuk appeared and sang in place Min Kyung Hoon. You have no idea how everyone was just screaming and screaming the entire time in surprise.
The other major surprise was how they put the camera on Kyuhyun’s face during the ment at the end of “Shining Star”.
Can’t wait for this arrogant and annoying brat to come back from his mandatory national service and join the rest of the Super Junior members on stage for Super Show 8 at the end of 2019!
Super Show 7S Lowlight
The sad part about it all was how there wasn’t going to be a Super Show 7 or 7S concert DVD. It’s so fun. Eunhyuk posted on his Instagram after the concert that they talked about filming a concert DVD but they never got to it in the end so there is no concert DVD.
Also, on the second day, some of the confetti on stage somehow caught fire and almost burned down the stage. While I applaud the staff in general for their quick action to put out the fire, the staff member who swept the burning confetti off the stage onto the floor was also not really using his brain.
As he swept the burning confetti off the stage, the cloth covering the stage side caught fire as well. For for the burning confetti that got swept to the floor, there were more confetti on the floor and the fire actually was starting to grow quite quickly. I really thought that the concert would be halted and we’d be evacuated. Seriously.
Anyway, no harm resulted from the fire thank God. And the concert managed to proceed to the end without further events. 다음에 꼭! 더 조심해야 하겠지.
I was also a bit disappointed that Lo Siento wasn’t in the setlist but oh well…
It’s always a challenge to try to summarise and make a post mortem post for a Super Show because many things happen during the concert. I’ve stan-ed Super Junior for almost 10 years now. I can’t believe how long I’ve been sucked into the world of kpop. LOL. And I’m still having fun with Super Junior.
I definitely have no regrets being sucked into this and I have no plans to stop stan-ing or following Super Junior any time soon as well.
Can’t wait to do it all over again at Super Show 8!
