Harry Potter: The Exhibition at the ArtScience Museum

So I went to the Harry Potter exhibition at the ArtScience Museum on Thursday evening. Interestingly, the Diner en Blanc was happening outside the ArtScience Museum. I’ve heard of the hooha surrounding the event but everyone seems to be enjoying themselves there.

Anyway, I’ve digressed.

I’m not a Potterhead and the truth is, I have never watched a single Harry Potter movie. Shocking I know. It’s the same like how I’ve never watched any of the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movie. (Yeah, yeah, judge me already…)

Still, I knew enough about the main characters and villains to know what is going on in the exhibition. I just didn’t know the storyline in the different movies.

I must say that I did enjoy myself a lot in the exhibition. It was very interesting and magical. Yeah, the word magical is the right word to use. If you are delusional enough, you might even believe that you’re actually at Hogswarts.

I liked best the part of the exhibition where the Dementor is located. They created this audio effect where if you walked through/stood at certain parts of the section, you can hear someone whispering in your ear! There are also interactive portions of the exhibition where you can play with the stuff there.

I spent about an hour in the exhibition and thought that it was a little short. Then again, the ArtScience Museum isn’t that big like the Lourve or Musee de Vaticano so it just might be me wanting more! Perhaps I should go to Harry Potter’s World in London the next time I’m in that part of the world. 🙂

That said, I’d think this exhibition is a must go for all Potterheads. For the rest of us Muggles, it actually is worth a look. Just don’t go during the last few days of the exhibition, it’ll be super crowded. I didn’t have to queue to get in when I was there.
