Seoul Adventure: Cheonggyecheon

The name Cheonggyecheon (청계천) probably doesn’t really ring a bell but I’m pretty sure that you know where/what it is when you see pictures of it. 🙂

Cheonggyecheon (청계천)

It is the stream smack in the middle of the bustling Seoul.

I actually walk along a portion of Cheonggyecheon (청계천) at least once every time I am in Seoul. I really like how once you head down to walk along the water, you stop hearing all the cars which are just above the stream bank. It is very peaceful and calming.

This time around, I actually walked along Cheonggyecheon (청계천) at 1 plus am or so (KST) as well. It is even quieter and more peaceful than in the day and I like it. It is really, really, really nice. 🙂 This is probably my most favourite place in Seoul actually. Amazing.

I’d highly recommend going to Cheonggyecheon (청계천) for a walk. It is a really long stream so there are many parts that you can walk along. For me, I like to start at Dongdaemun, Exit 8. 🙂

So yeah, go look at Naver/Google Map.

  1. is it possible for me to start from Inseol-dong station?
and go through the stream until Dongdaemun?

    thanks a lot 🙂

    1. you can start from whichever part of the stream. 🙂 they do have a map at the staircase leading into cheonggyecheon so you should be able to check which direction you are supposed to go.
