I recently went on a 10-day trip to Seoul for the U-Kiss “Stalker” comeback alone and it was to-date, the most memorable U-Kiss centric trip by far.
The moment I landed in Seoul, I found out about their first fansign event in support of their 11th mini album “Stalker”! Needless to say, I had to try my luck and thankfully, I managed to get into the queue!
For those of you who don’t know, it’s not a straightforward process to get into the queue for a fansign event in Seoul for U-Kiss. You need to buy an album (or a lot of them) at a certain music store during a specified period of time and pray that the “serial number” on your album is selected in a lottery.
I managed to get into the fansign event on 11 June 2016 at the Bandi/Luni’s Shinsegae Gangnam outlet. This fansign was different from the others I’ve been to! We get to sit and have conversations with the boys!
Jun was the first member of U-Kiss at the table and he greeted me with a big smile. We spoked casually about things and then I decided to spice things up a bit by asking “Hey Jun, can I ask you a question?”
Jun: Yeah, sure. Anything!
Me: *leans forward and acts cute* Can I be your Princess?
June: *shocked* You…? Me…? HUH ME?!?
Me: Caannnn IIIIII?
Jun: *shock* ….
Me: *pretend to look disappointed* I guess it’s a no then… *moves back slowly*
Jun: *grabs both my hands* Yes! YES! Of course you can be my Princess! *cheeky grin* So… I’m like your husband now?
Me: *stunned* Whoa… let’s start with you being my Prince first…
LOL. What I have done?
Kevin was next and there’s something about him that I really love; he is always so warm and welcoming.
Kevin: Are you in Seoul for a vacation with friends or…
Me: Kevin, I am on a solo trip for U-Kiss
Kevin: *touched* Really?! You’re here alone? Awwww! Do you feel lonely? *reach out for my hands* But you won’t be lonely because you have me, you have us, U-Kiss!
How sweet is this Angel?
Kiseop was next and it’s always fun to mess with Kiseop because his reaction is always so cute! As he was about to sign on my album, I called him.
Me: Kiseop…
Kiseop: *looks up with his puppy eyes* Hhhmm…? *leans closer*
Me: Kiseop… cupcake, cupcake, you are my cupcake!
Kiseop was clearly quite confused at that point and then I explained to him that he was a cupcake because both the cupcake and him has the same happiness effect on me. He then drew lots of hearts on my album, looked up at me and said, “I love you!”
BAM! He gets me like that. Every. Single. Time.
As I moved on to Eli, he was like “Hello!! Wait, wait!! I got this!!! SINGAPORE!?!”
Me: *nod*
Eli: Huh? I’m right?!
Me: Yes Eli. You are absolutely right! Good memory!
Well, Eli, it’s been 3 years and I look different now. I congratulated him on becoming a father and gave him a gift for him and his son. Eli looked at me in disbelief. After news broke that he was going to be a father, he hasn’t been receiving fan letters as much and he certainly wasn’t expecting that there was a gift for him and his son. Even though Eli is an idol, he is still a human being and as fans, we need to respect that.
Hoon was SUPER excited to see me. LOL.
Hoon: *almost shouting* IT’S BEEN SUCH A LONG TIME!
Me: *confused* What has been?
Hoon: It’s been such a long time since I met you! Where have you been? How have you been?
Me: You know me?
Hoon: *holds my hand* Of course! I’ll never forget! Because I love you!
Me: *rolls eyes* Really?!
Hoon: Yes! I lovvveeeee yooouuuu!!!
Me: *give in to his aegyo* I love you too Hoon-ey Bunny!
SooHyun Oppa was the last member of U-Kiss in the line. I suddenly felt quite self-conscious. Even though I’ve never really said it, he does have a special place in my heart.
SooHyun: Emily! It’s been a while. How are you doing?
Me: *stunned*
HE. REMEMBERED. MY. NAME. OH. MY. GOD.
Me: Hi SooHyun Oppa… I’m good. How are you?
SooHyun: I’m ok! Don’t worry!
SoonHyun Oppa then asked me to choose which page I would like him to sign on and we even flipped the pages together. #feels #cheapthrill
SooHyun: Emily! I will write your name in Hangul. Ok?
Yes Oppa. Whatever you want Oppa. Soohyun Oppa then continued to do all the talking while I just stared at him. Hahaha.
It’s a memory of U-Kiss that I will certainly treasure forever and I hope that there will be another chance for even more memories to be made with them.
