Big thanks to the Singapore GP team for the invite to the Thursday Pit Lane Experience yesterday, 15 September 2016!

The Thursday Pit Lane Experience is part of the Singapore GP’s “Rev Up Singapore!” initiative which enabled 3,000 guests to get an exclusive up close view of the race cars and the pit crew in action at the team garages before the Circuit Park officially opens to ticket holders today for the 2016 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.

I have ever walked ran down the pit straight after a race to try catch the podium action and watched some of the teams packing up in the garage (they pack damn fast!!) but walking down the actual pit lane with some of the teams garages preparing for the practice sessions later today is a first and very, very interesting!!

I was very cool to see the all the pit walls installed and switched on. No telemetry of course. Not yet anyway.

The most interesting part of the Thursday Pit Lane Experience has got to be the part where I was there at the right moment to watch the Red Bull Racing Team do a couple of run through of their pit stop practice.

Cool eh?

I must add that the matt finish of the Red Bull Racing Car is damn nice!!

I spent 40 minutes on the track and pit lane but it sure wasn’t enough! Everything was just so fascinating!! I didn’t even managed to get up to the place where Charlie Whiting presses that red button.

The Thursday Pit Lane Experience sure started my F1 weekend earlier than expected. Here’s to 3 more days of Formula 1 action!

If you need tickets but don’t already have them, don’t fret or buy off the black market at an inflated price. The Singapore GP team has set aside a number of tickets which you can buy at selected gates at the Circuit Park and the Ticket Collection Centre at the Raffles City Convention Centre (Swissotel The Stamford, Level 4) during the race weekend. The Ticket Collection Centre at Raffles City Convention Centre is open from 10.00 am – 10.00 pm daily until 18 September 2016.

See you all there!
