The Grasshopper 17385 concert was on 29 December 2018 at the Genting Arena of Stars but for some reason, I thought it was on 30 December 2018. Fortunately, we had the habit of collecting the concert tickets the moment we arrived. It was when we collected the tickets and then realised that the concert was that very night. 😅

Anyway, I was feeling a bit better from sleeping so much in Kuala Lumpur. However, my throat wasn’t feeling so good still. It really does suck a lot to just sit during a concert and not be able to cheer, scream and/or sing along. And that is also why I cannot understand why would people go to a concert to just sit/stand.

The concert started on the dot at 8.30 pm. I was surprised. I certainly do not remember any of the concerts that I have attended in Genting Arena of Stars that started on time. This is a very welcomed change and I greatly appreciate it.
Needless to say, Grasshopper put on a great show as usual. However, it seems like a good bulk of the audience got tickets to the show for free because they are VIP members at the casino or something. There was basically no reaction from the audience most of the time. Even the young girl beside me was like, “this is so good but why isn’t anyone cheering?”
However, the crowd came alive when Edmund So came on stage in this very daring and revealing stage costume:

Everyone was like, “WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!” and you can quite literally see everyone take out their smart phone to start taking photos and videos.
Only during the encore part, people started to stand up and dance; compared to previous concerts where the audience were more reactive. I was particularly amused with this auntie sitting in front of me. She was just basically sitting expressionless throughout the entire concert. Her husband was using his smart phone to take photos and videos the entire time.
Then during encore, she stood up along with the rest and started dancing. I was pretty surprised with the variety of gestures she had in her dance vocabulary. I mean, she had zero reaction at all previous! Not even the bob of her head or any tapping along to the rhythm. Then like, boom. Auntie transformed into a dancing queen. It was very entertaining I must say.
I did enjoy myself at the concert even though I was pretty out of it most of the time. I just need to stop packing such a crazy holiday schedule for myself. Body is clearly telling me that I’m not that young anymore. Boo. LOL.
