tvN K-pop Star Hunt Singapore 2011

So over the weekend, apart from having Blue in town, there was also a K-pop Star Hunt organized by Cube Entertainment to look for the next BEAST/B2ST and/or 4 Minute.

The closed door audition on 22 October 2011 saw 100 kpop superstar hopefuls sing and/or dance their hearts out for a spot in the top 20, putting them one step closer to their dream.

The top 20 were then put through a public audition at Square 2 on Sunday (23 October 2011) in front of the judges: Mr. Eddy Tan, Vice President, Programming of tvN, [V] and Star World, Fox International Channels (FIC); Mr. Park Jae-Hyun, General
Department Head of Rookie Development Division, CUBE Entertainment; and
Singapore guest judge, television personality and actress, Ms. Irene Ang.

Maressa Zahirah and Jasmine Tan beat 500 hopefuls to win the coveted spots in the Singapore leg of the auditions. Maressa , age 23, is a mass communications graduate while Jasmine, age 16, is still a student at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School.

Congratulations to the both of them and may you girls do Singapore proud. Fighting!

Similar auditions are being held in Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan and Philippines. The top 2 from each countries will then have to compete against each other  to win the chance to train to be a K-pop star under CUBE Entertainment.

They will also be part of a behind the scenes/reality series to document their time in the boot camp mentored by CUBE Entertainent in Seoul. The reality series will air on 31st
December 2011, Saturday, 8pm on tvN (StarHub channel 824) where the next K Pop
Star will be crowned.
