This is the first ever YouTube Fan Fest and it happened in Singapore. Cool cats huh? 🙂 The YouTube Fan Fest is done in conjunction with the cool people at HP and it features the superstars of YouTube.

Present in the Day 1 were Steph Micayle, MyChonny, Namewee, Cooking With Dog, Hikakin, David Choi, Natalie Tran (via Google Hangout), Mighty Car Mods and Chester See.

The format of YouTube Fan Fest is like a talk show where there are live performances if the name is a musician/singer. The atmosphere was pretty cool and a bit laid back which is cool.

The 3 hour long session was actually very taxing considering how I actually was at the press conference which happened just before the show. It meant that I was there for 6 hours and not to mention that I was actually awake since 8+ am.

I must say that the biggest highlight for me was Hikakin and Namewee. If you don’t know, Hikakin is from Japan and he is one of the best human beat boxers in Japan. Go check out his YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/hikakin to check out his beat boxing. Damn bloody amazing!!

Namewee is from Malaysia and what amazed me the most about him is how he actually sings in all kinds of languages. While his lyrics might be too in your face or even offensive to some people, he does make a point and the tunes are catchy as well and it does stick in your head. 🙂 Also, at the YouTube Fan Fest, he premiered his latest song and video called “Learn Cantonese”. At the point of writing, he hasn’t uploaded the video onto his YouTube channel yet but I can tell you it is a typical Namewee song with a really nice melody.
