Before I came to Yokohama, Japan, I’ve been seeing lots of videos online about those fluffy Japanese pancakes and day 1 when I arrived in Yokohama, I set out to hunt for them. After some research (ie Googling), I found out that West confectionery is home to these delicious pancakes and there is an outlet in Yokohama!

The outlet in Yokohama is pretty easy to get to. Just alight at the Yokohama Station and look for the West Exit. Once you get out of the Exit, just look to your left and you should be able to see a Takashimaya Yokohama building. The store is at a corner on the 3rd floor of that building.
I arrived at the store at around 3.00 pm (JP), just in time for tea. There was a super long queue and we had to wait for a little more than an hour after adding our names to the waiting list. If you’re in a hurry, this is not the place for you.

The price of things in this confectionery is on the high side but the drinks we ordered (iced tea / coffee) are free flow so it does seem ok after all.

Besides their famed fluffy pancakes, there are other things on the menu as well but I didn’t get to try anything else as I was full from the pancakes. However, if I ever am in Japan again, I’d definitely pay another visit to this chain to try out their sundaes.

So on to the highlight, the fluffy pancake! It’s really delicious and totally worth the 1 hour or so wait for me but it made me so full after I was done. Take note that the pancake is available only at Aoyama Garden and Bay Cafe Yokohama outlet. You can click here go to their website for more details and their respective addresses.
